Advertising terms
Last updated: June 2026
These terms apply to anyone who creates and runs an ad via Cashew. By ticking the acceptance box in the portal and paying, you accept them.
1. Manual review before display
Every ad is reviewed manually before being displayed. Payment is collected in advance, but your ad is only shown once approved. Until it is validated, it does not appear for any user.
2. Prohibited content
The following are refused, among others, without this list being exhaustive:
- Political, electoral, religious or extremist propaganda.
- Abusive, defamatory, hateful, racist or discriminatory statements (origin, religion, gender, orientation, disability, etc.).
- Incitement to violence, hatred or harassment.
- Obscene, pornographic, shocking or violent logos, images or text.
- Illegal, misleading or fraudulent content, or content infringing third-party rights (trademarks, copyright, privacy).
- Scams, illicit products or services, false claims.
2b. Visual ads ("My design" format)
An advertiser may provide their own visual instead of the text insert. The rules above apply in full to the image. In addition:
- The visual must not imitate an interface element: fake "Close" button, fake loading indicator, fake notification, fake AI message.
- The "Sponsored" badge and the Cashew loading indicator remain displayed above the visual; the visual must not attempt to hide or contradict them.
- The visual must be legible and clearly identify the brand or offer. No illegible text, no image that is misleading about what lies behind the click.
- Required format: 1440 × 240 px (6:1), PNG, JPG or WebP, 200 KB maximum. The visual is frozen at submission: it cannot be replaced after review. To change the visual, a new ad must be created.
3. Penalty and no refund
An ad that breaches these terms is refused and not displayed.
The amount already paid for an ad in breach is not refunded. By submitting and paying for an ad, you acknowledge and accept this rule.
4. Display and labelling
Ads are displayed only during an AI's loading time, and always clearly labelled "Sponsored". They disappear as soon as the AI's reply arrives.
5. Respect for users' privacy
Cashew does not read the content of users' conversations. Targeting remains coarse (platform, time of day) and never relies on the content of exchanges.
6. Changes to the terms
These terms may be updated. The applicable version is the one in force at the time the ad is submitted.
